HarperCollins and Amar Chitra Katha Announce Creative Writing Workshops for Kids

NEW DELHI, April 18, 2022 /PRNewswire/ — HarperCollins India and Amar Chitra Katha today announced the launch of a brand new carousel of creative writing workshops for children in the 7-14 age group. From April 22, these workshops will be available in three different formats: a short session (2 hours), a six-day program (12 hours) and a 12-day intensive course (24 hours) which will result in the publication of an illustrated e-book. Workshops will teach learners the basics of writing styles, tones and how to use them to create essays, character creation, the nuances of plot construction, dialogue, storytelling and illustrations. Young learners will also have the opportunity to interact with successful writers and illustrators from both publishing houses and learn from the masters the art of creative writing in different genres.

In 2021, HarperCollins and Amar Chitra Katha launched an all-new series of chapter books adapted from the iconic ACK comics. The first set of three books – the Amar Chitra Katha Folktales collection – became a bestseller and a favorite among young children. This was followed by the second box set of favorite stories – Timeless Classics from Amar Chitra Katha. Several other collections of stories will be published as part of this co-publishing initiative.
