History of World Letter Writing Day:

The practice of letter writing itself has been around for centuries and was also present in ancient Egypt and Greece. In those days, however, letters were written on materials such as metal, lead, wax-covered wooden tablets, pottery fragments, animal skin, and the like.

But later, the invention of paper in China was a turning point for the whole world, and writing on paper became popular everywhere. World Letter Writing Day was created in 2004 by Australian author, artist and photographer Richard Simpkin. It all started when he started writing to people he considered Australian legends. He always loved writing letters and it felt the need to honor him on a special day.

Meaning of World Letter Writing Day:

World Letter Writing Day honors and recognizes the important role that letter writing has played in our human history and, at the same time, this day encourages people around the world to take an interest in letter writing and to help keep alive the tradition of epistolary writing. .
